We usually only cover automotive... but in this case we will make an exception because Lexus has done an amazing job with the design of this yacht! If you love automotive design this boat is full of it and looks like a perfect 10. Parking may be a little different than your traditional car, but we are sure you'll get the hang of it!
So here is a question for you - What is 65 feet long, 19 feet wide and glides along as if it were on water? Why the latest Lexus LY650. Lexus has, in recent years delved into various arenas outside of the motoring world to expand what they believe a luxury experience should entail.
Driven by Lexus International President Yoshihiro Sawa’s vision of Lexus as a brand, they wanted to explore new ways to deliver innovative and amazing experiences for their customers. The result, in a somewhat literal translation of a range-topping product, is the Lexus LY650 flagship luxury yacht. Turning this ambitious concept into a reality will be the task of the Marquis-Larson Boat Group.
Unlike the earlier concept, this model is destined for production and Marquis-Larson will build, sell and service the LY650. That’s probably a wise move as retrofitting a boat mooring facility to existing Lexus dealerships would have no doubt been an expensive endeavor.
While it may seem a tad strange to take to the oceans, other auto manufacturers have been here before, most recently Aston Martin headed beneath the waves in their bespoke Triton submarine and have in the past built the AM37 speedboat. The first Lexus LY 650 should be completed in the second half of 2019 with a global debut scheduled for late in the year.
