We predicted this would happen in our article Top 10 cars to look out for in 2019! It isn't rocket science though. If you are Ferrari you build the 488, then build the Pista as a special edition and charge a fortune for it than put all that technology into your new model the F8. They have done it countless times with the 458, 430 and so on.
Back to the main point: Ferrari's next evolution of the 488, the F8 Tributo, will debut at the Geneva Auto Show. The F8 Tributo has new styling cues, revised aerodynamics, and the most powerful production V8 in Ferrari's history. The 3.9-liter twin-turbo powerplant makes 710 horsepower, an increase of 50 over the 488 GTB, and weighs over 88 pounds less — helping the F8 Tributo hit 62 MPH in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 211 MPH. Exterior changes improve the aerodynamic efficiency by 10%, along with the s-duct first seen on the 488 Pista for a 15% increase in downforce. A new LED headlamp design marks the front, while a louvered Lexan screen covers the engine — a nod to the famous twin-turbo V8 found in Ferrari's classic F40. The rear sees a return to the familiar four-lamp Ferrari layout that references the 308 GTB. As good as the 488 GTB was, the F8 Tributo improves on it and shows how flexible the platform is.
What do you think of the F8? Hit or Miss?
